Kaskaskia College To Host Arbor Day Celebrations

Kaskaskia College is planning to host their 8th Annual Arbor Day Celebrations. Arbor Day will be celebrated on the Kaskaskia College’s Main Campus in the Lifelong Learning Center on Friday, April 24 at 2:00 p.m. with Tom Schwartz as guest speaker. Schwartz owns and operates Schwartz Orchards in Centralia.

Arbor Day will be celebrated at Kaskaskia College’s Vandalia Campus on Thursday, April 30 at 2:00 p.m. with Doug Wasmuth as guest speaker. Wasmuth is the Natural Resource Specialist and Kaskaskia River Watershed Coordinator for the US Army Corps of Engineers at Carlyle Lake/Kaskaskia River Project.

Kaskaskia College and the Kaskaskia College Foundation launched its Arboretum project in 1991. Since then, over 280 trees have been planted. These trees offer a living tribute to individuals, institutions, and municipalities, as well as providing beauty to the KC Campus.
