JCHS chili luncheon set for Feb. 27
Jefferson County Historical Society is hosting their annual chili luncheon fundraiser on Thursday, February 27 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The luncheon will be held at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building in Veterans Memorial Park in Mt. Vernon. Choices are either chili and crackers or a pork tenderloin sandwich and chips with a drink and dessert for $8.00. There is seating to dine in or the option to carry out. In addition to the luncheon, there is a bake sale with many delicious desserts.
The money raised benefits the Jefferson County Historical Society and supports their activities, programs, and exhibits. Jefferson County Historical Society is a nonprofit organization, which relies on support from the community. With the help of these funds, the Society can continue educating visitors about the history of Jefferson County and the surrounding areas. Each month an educational and/or entertaining program is scheduled. In addition, their exhibits rotate every three years. The Village is open weekends from the first weekend in May to the last weekend in October.
