Karil Garrett of Kinmundy, Illinois presented a program to the Happy Hearts Quilt Guild at the First Christian Church in Salem, Illinois. The program encouraged members to cherish the old things made from those we loved and if needed, make them in to new cherished items for loved ones to love and cherish as well. Garrett showed members how to restore old quilts and where to find fabrics that will match older fabrics. Garrett also gave ideas to the members about making new items such as bears, rabbits, stockings, and framed art out of those cherished items that can’t be restored.

The Happy Hearts Quilt Guild will hold its annual Quilt Show and Vendor Fair this coming Saturday, October 12th at the Salem Community Center. Doors open at 9:00a.m. and the cost is $3.00 (12 and under free). Vendors include quilting and non quilting vendors including: lots of craft vendors, Thirty-One, Paparazzi jewelry, and much more.

The Happy Hearts Quilt Guild meets the 2nd Saturday of each month at the First Christian Church in Salem, Illinois
