St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Honors Employees for Longevity of Service

St. Mary’s Good Samaritan hosted a Recognition Dinner on Wednesday, May 7 at the Holiday Inn in Mt. Vernon. During this event, employees were honored for significant years of service. Over 283 dedicated men and women were celebrated at this event with a special focus on those serving for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and even 45 years. The combined total of experience for those celebrating an anniversary added up to an amazing 4115 years.

Patricia Sanders was recognized for giving 45 years of faithful commitment to St. Mary’s Good Samaritan. Pat serves as Switchboard Operator for St. Mary’s Hospital and is known as the “voice of St. Mary’s”. She was unable to attend and will receive a plaque and roses for her many years of dedicated service in June.

“When an employee reaches a milestone such as this, they must be commended. At St. Mary’s Good Samaritan, each job is a mission to continue the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. Because of our exceptional employees’ commitment and dedication, our patients continue to receive the best possible health care in Southern Illinois,” states Tom Blythe, System Vice President Human Resources for St. Mary’s Good Samaritan.
