Events At Bryan-Bennett Library
October 5th the Bryan-Bennett Library (BBL) will host Richard Gooch Photography and music by Jack McGuire. Growing up on a farm in Kell, Gooch attended Salem Community High School, graduating in 1966. A dozen signed photos ranging in sizes 20×30 and 11×14 and theme will be on display and for sale with a percentage of the proceeds donated to BBL. Since retiring, Gooch has published books of photography.
Current BBL board member, Jack McGuire will perform a wide variety of musical genre on guitar. Songs, most with historical context, date later than 1930 to the present.The public is invited to enjoy sights and sounds beginning at 10:00 a.m. till noon.
Katie Marsh, former school librarian will demonstrate use of Nooks, Kindles and Ipads, etc. with current Southern Illinois Library System. Those in attendance on Thursday, October 24th are to bring their own device with overdrive. The hour program starts at 6:00 p.m. with a question and answer portion. No sign up, free of charge program held in small gym at Bryan-Bennett Library.
Friday, October 25th WSIU presents a community service screening for children 3rd grade and under. Start time is 10:30 a.m.
