The undisputed home of Mr. E. Bunny, the small village of Oakdale, Illinois has big plans for the Easter holiday.

Saturday, March 28 marks the 22nd anniversary of the annual Oakdale Eggstravaganza at which visitors can pull back the curtain and tour the Easter Egg Factory where E. Bunny creates the magic of Easter.
The 22nd Annual Eggstravaganza will begin with its traditional fellowship service at 9 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church followed by a day of food, fun, contests and family-friendly activities.

Easter Egg Factory tours will begin at 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. where those in attendance can “stroll the wood-chopped path through the woods, across bridges, past jellybean and marshmallow trees,” to get a glimpse of where E. Bunny creates his magic. Admission for the tour is $2.

During the tour hours, a petting zoo will be available for a $2 fee and N.C. Pries Implements Inc., will be hosting free kiddie train rides.
Joe and Cody Gill, Rosie and Marion Konkel, Ted Stern and Bob Niedbalski, Madonna and Ron Williams, and the Hangmanoverboardwalk Band will be on hand with their musical offerings beginning at 10 a.m. until 4.
Returning again for 2015 is the Easter Bonnet Contest at 11 a.m. where contestants are invited to “eggspress” themselves and create the “most perfect Easter bonnet” with prizes ranging from $20 to $75 in the categories of most creative or original, Easter theme, religious theme, babies and best of show. The egg toss contest kicks off at 12:30 p.m.

A staple of the annual event, the free, 20-acre egg hunt begins at 2 p.m. for children ages three to eight. In past events, organizers have filled more than 10,000 eggs with goodies and treats to be discovered.
Kids will have the chance to win a free bicycle and must be present to win the drawings at 3:30 p.m.

Crafts and food offerings such as chili, sandwiches, homemade pies, cakes and more will also be available throughout the day. The 22nd Annual Eggstravaganza will be held rain or shine with shuttles available all day.
