Lifestyle
August 15, 2017

Saturday, August 19th at 2:00pm in the Schweinfurth Museum at the Historical Village.

Mollie Weinstein Schaffer joined the military to serve our country during WWII. Her story documents the human side of life during the war. Her journey alternated between fear, romance, exhaustion, and leisure. Mollie frequently wrote home to tell about her experience and her sister saved all her letters. Cyndee Schaffer is the daughter of Mollie Wienstein Schaffer. She published her mother’s letters in the book: Mollie’s War. Ms. Schaffer will present a program highlighting the experiences of her mother in the Women’s Army Corps during WWII.

You may contact Cynthia Schaffer @ 847-917-4125 for questions.

The co- sponsors for this program are Sharp-Hundley, P.C. and Tanglewood Apartments-Kitty Irvin.

This program is provided free of charge, donations are appreciated. The Jefferson County Historical Village is located at 1411 North 27th Street in Mt. Vernon. For more information contact the Historical Society office at (618) 246-0033.
