Centralia SINA Members Learn About Library Programs

Southern Illinois Networking Association met at the Centralia Regional Library on Thursday, May 23. President Mike Chambers opened the meeting with prayer and the pledge. All members discussed what events are happening within the community.
President Chambers introduced Diana Donahoo, the director at the Centralia Regional Library, as the featured speaker.
Diana spoke on a new upcoming program at the library called “Summer Snacks.” This is for children ages 18 and under. The program will be held at the library from June 3 until August 6 Monday through Friday from 3 to 4 p.m.
The children attending will participate in planned games and activities, social time and snacks.

Diana spoke about another program called Project Next. This is for grades 5 through 8. It will also be held at the library June 3–6 and June 10–13 from 10 a.m. until noon. Carrie Leigh will have a drawing class, a project using Google CS First’s art curriculum and PNG laptops and “non” book club project. Registration is online.
o conclude her program, Diana tested the members on their knowledge of the great state of Illinois with questions from the books, Who Wants to be an Illinois Millionaire? by Carol Marsh and Illinois Trivia Illustrated by Bill Nunes.
