For more than 30 years, the Chamber has rented space on South Locust Street in downtown. Last year in September, they were notified in advance that the Geary Family is interested in selling their current location.

“We are very appreciative of the partnership between the Geary Family and the Chamber of Commerce. They have been great to us through the years and we look forward to continued partnerships in other endeavors,” said Marcus Holland, Executive Director of the Centralia Chamber.

The Chamber Board of Directors weighed all of the options of moving the Chamber office. They decided to stay in downtown Centralia and look for rental properties instead of owning. An opportunity came to the Chamber as they started looking at downtown properties. The space adjacent to Wham and Wham Lawyers at 210 East Broadway was vacant. It was used most recently by Crooked Creek Winery for their pop-up location last winter.

“The beauty of this project is taking two partially occupied buildings in downtown Centralia, consolidating offices through business partnerships, and creating an opportunity for a full building to be available for new businesses and entrepreneurs,” adds Holland.

Jennifer and Dan Price own the property at 210 East Broadway and are investing in it to make it a better space for the Chamber of Commerce and the community. The project is scheduled to be completed this summer. There are two offices, a front reception area, a new kitchenette, two bathrooms, storage space in the back, and a large conference room.

“An important feature to us is the access to the conference room by an exterior entrance. Currently, we are unable to allow chamber members use of our conference room due to lack of access to restrooms and traffic through our office space. Now, we will have an opportunity for chamber members to have meeting space available without disturbing the day-to-day operations and office hours of the chamber of commerce,” said Holland.
The Chamber plans to move to their new location in September after Balloon Fest.

A work in progress, the future home of the Greater Centralia Chamber of Commerce is located in the 200 block of East Broadway in downtown Centralia.
