Kerisa, a seven year old form Belize City, Belize, was the special guest of the  Rotary Club of Mount Vernon at a recent meeting.  Suffering from a several spinal ailment, Kerisa is making her second trip to the United States because of the Belize Children’s Project which was established over 40 years as a Rotary collaboration with Shriner’s Hospital.    Cheryl and Rotarian Kevin Settle, pictured second and third from the left, again are serving as her host family as she prepares for her second spinal surgery at Shriner’s Hospital.    The Settles report Kerisa has been enrolled at the Primary Center as she goes through her pre-surgery clinical tests and hopes to return to Belize later this year after the surgery.  Also pictured is the Settles’ daughter Rotarian Hillary Esser, right, who has assisted with Kerisa’s care.   They all agree taking care of a child who is in such need is a rewarding blessing and that Kerisa will be part of their family forever.  Rotary President Sandy Sinnett, left, is also pictured welcoming the guests.
