American Legion Baseball Chicken Dinner

Last month the American Legion celebrated its 95th birthday. The Legion’s four pillars of service are veterans, defense, Americanism and families.

One of the major programs under Americanism is American Legion baseball. Centralia Post 446 has sponsored a baseball team for many years. Games are played in June and July, culminating with the Legion World Series in late August. Post 446 has one major fundraiser for the baseball team and has enjoyed community support at the Baseball Chicken Dinner held the first Sunday in May. This year it will be May 4 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

One hundred per cent of all ticket sales and donations are given to Coach Todd Bauer for the team to cover costs and expenses for equipment, travel, umpires etc.

Tickets are $8.00 and available at the Post or at the door. Dinner includes drinks. There is no extra charge for carry out. Children under 12 are $4.00. Tickets and more information are also available by calling or texting 618-292-6541.
