47th Annual Hoyleton Hofbraufest July 10-12

The 47th Annual Hoyleton Hofbraufest will be held on July 10, 11 and 12, 2015. Rides will be provided by Little Egypt all three days. Refreshments will include beer, (no carry-ins), fish, porkburgers, hot dogs, hamburgers, bratwurst, bbq pork sandwiches, chicken strips, french fries and the famous Hoyleton Hofbraufest homemade German potato salad.

The Hofbraufest event schedule is as follows.

On Friday, July 10, the food stands will open at 5 p.m. and the vendor, craft fair will run from 5 to 8 p.m. Armband Night will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. 5K packets can be picked up from 6 to 9 p.m. From 6 to 10 p.m. a wine tasting will be held in the Club building. At 7 p.m. A Rededication by Lions of the Hoyleton Fire Bell will be held. Also at 7 p.m., a free throw contest will be held for the following ages: 10 years & under, 11-14 years, and 15 years & up.

On Saturday, July 11, 5K packets can be picked up from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. Music will be provided by DJ Dwonka and Funke from 7 a.m. to 12 noon. The 5K Run / Walk will begin at 8 a.m. and the Youth Half Mile Run will begin at 9 a.m Food stands will open at 11 a.m. A washers tournament will be held atnoon. Other attractions include a tractor / lawn mower show from noon to 5 p.m., a vendor / craft fair from noon to 8 p..m. a pet parade at 1 p.m, a kiddie tractor pull at 3 p.m. and Jamie’s Tumbling from 4 to 5 p.m.

A bratwurst and pork steak dinner will be held from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Saturday evening, and music will be provided by Joe Lukasik from 5 to 7 p.m. Armband night will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. A bratwurst eating contest will be held at 7 p.m., followed by music by the Bar Stool Prophets from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. A flippy cup contest will be held at 8 p.m.

On Sunday, July 12, registration for the car show will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. The car show will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Judging begins at 12 noon, with awards at 3 p.m. Food stands will open at 11 a.m. A fried / smoked chicken & bratwurst dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Other attractions on Sunday include a vendor / craft fair from noon to 6 p.m, a horseshoe tournament at noon, rides from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and a quilt auction at 1 p.m. Joe Lukasik will be performing from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and from 5 to 9 p.m. music will be provided by Polka Connection, featuring Ray Stanowksi and Mike Wisniewski. A raffle drawing will be held at 9 p.m. on Sunday.

The 9th annual Hofbraufest 5K Run / Walk and the Fireman Challenge will be held Saturday, July 11 at the Hoyleton Community Club Park, 45 miles east of St. Louis (Hwy. 64 West to Rt. 177, Okawville exit, then east 12 miles.) Look for signs.

The 5K Run/Walk on Saturday will start at 8 a.m. and the 1/2 mile youth run will start at 9 a.m.

Registration fee is $20 before July 4, or $25 from July 5 to July 9 for the 5K Run / Walk; $10 before July 4 for the Youth 1/2 Mile Run, 10 & Under; $15 after July 4 for the Firemen Challenge.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female runners. Prizes are $100 for First Place, $75 for Second Place, $50 for Third Place.

Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female winners in the following age groups: 10–14, 15–19, 20–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70 and over.
First, Second and Third Place medals will be awarded to the top three male and female walkers in the Master’s Division, 40 years and older.
Youth runners will be awarded medals for First, Second and Third Place. All other youth runners will receive participation ribbons.
