2019 Centralia Halloween Parade Theme Winner
The 2019 Halloween Parade Theme winner was Emily Rupe from Central City Grade School. The winner was announced at the school on Thursday, May 2 by Halloween Parade Committee Chairman Butch Mathus. Her winning theme was Fall Family Fun. The theme contest has been held among the area schools since 1992.
Emily’s submission will be used as the event theme for all activities including the commemorative buttons that are designed and sold each year based on the theme.
In addition to honoring Emily, her entire class at Central City Grade School enjoyed a pizza party. Emily will also be honored in a ceremony at the Elks Club on Saturday, October 26 before riding in the Halloween Parade.
On Saturday, October 26, 2019, Centralia will hold its Annual Fall Festival and Halloween Parade. The Fall Festival is located in downtown Centralia and will begin at 9:00 a.m. It features a Craft Fair and Flea Market at the Centralia Recreation Complex, free children’s games and activities, chili cook-off, car show, local entertainment and, of course, delicious food.
At 11:00 a.m. will be the Children’s Halloween Parade, where children of all ages can dress in their Halloween costumes and walk in the parade. Judging for the costume contest starts promptly at 10:30 a.m. at the Centralia Public Library Park located at 515 East Broadway.
The 93rd Annual Halloween Parade will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will follow the Poplar Street Route. Come and enjoy the marching bands, floats and many more attractions.
Awards for the float and marching band winners are held immediately after the parade at the Carillon Park located at 114 North Elm Street. The Centralia Halloween Committee encourages everyone to attend to see if their favorite band and float won.
