Safe Sheds to Offer Scholarship through Kaskaskia College Foundation

The Kaskaskia College Foundation is pleased to announce that Safe Sheds will now offer a scholarship for eligible students.

Safe Sheds, recognizes and respects the important work that is done by tradesmen and laborers in the workforce. They also know that many students in our area need encouragement and assistance to pursue their interests and talents. Their goal by establishing this scholarship, is to provide a little help to the students who will be responsible for inventing, maintaining, and improving the equipment, homes, and vehicles that will keep our region strong and competitive in the future. They firmly believe that everyone who wants to learn a skill or trade should have an opportunity to do so to better themselves and their community.

Criteria for the scholarship will be: preference will be given to a graduating senior from South Central High School, Odin High School, Sandoval High School, or Patoka High School; applicants must be in pursuit of a degree or certificate in one of the following programs at Kaskaskia College: Welding Technology, Automotive Technology, Industrial Technology, Carpentry Occupations, or Construction Project Management. Applicants must submit an essay describing their financial need and career goals.

One scholarship will be awarded for $500 to be used for tuition, fees, books, and course related supplies purchased through the Kaskaskia College Bookstore.
