KC Nursing Students Assist with St. Joseph’s Hospital Community Health Fair
Kaskaskia College Nursing Students who are enrolled in Nursing Care of Adult and Child III (NURS 213) and NURS-214 Nursing Care of Adult and Child IV (NURS 214) recently assisted with the annual St Joseph’s Highland Community Health Fair.
The Health Fair serves over 1000 people annually and offers low cost blood tests and many free screenings including Blood Pressure, audiology, and Glaucoma Screenings. Eighteen students who currently attend clinicals at St Joseph’s Highland joined over 100 hospital employees and volunteers in hosting the event. Students assisted with audiology screenings, bone density tests, B/P monitoring, Pulmonary Function tests, Glaucoma screenings, and instruction on take home Colo-rectal screening kits. This is a great opportunity for our students to help serve the needs of our communities. This is the 5th year the Kaskaskia ADN program has partnered with St Joseph’s Highland for this event.
