KC Music Department to Hold Holiday Instrumental Concert December 10

The Kaskaskia College Music Department will present the annual Holiday Instrumental Concert on Tuesday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Jane Knight Auditorium. The concert features the Kaskaskia College Concert and Jazz Bands under the direction of Professor Cliff Jourdan.

Concert Band Highlights include “On This Day” based on “Personent Hodie” arranged by Tom Wallace; “Whisper To Their Souls” (Based on “Greensleeves”) arranged by Samuel R. Hazo; “Let The Bells Ring!” (Based on “Ukrainian Bell Carol”) arranged by Robert Buckley; “Overture to A Winter Celebration” arranged by James M. Stephenson; and “Minor Alterations – Christmas Through The Looking Glass” by David Lovrien.
Jazz Band Highlights include “Comfort and Joy” arranged by Rick Hirsch; “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer” arranged by Chris Sharp; “Indiana” as recorded by Gene Krupa arranged by transcribed by Myles Collins; “It Swings Upon A Midnight Clear” by Larry Neeck; “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!” arranged by Gordon Goodwin; and Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride” arranged by John LaBarbera.

The concert is free and open to the public.
