KC Massage Therapy Extends Deadline
During the two semester program at Kaskaskia College, students learn to aid clients in injury prevention, pain relief and relaxation. Other courses instruct the students in the fundamentals of setting up a private clinic or working in a business relationship with other professionals. The small class size ensures individual training. Massage Therapy as a career has evolved over the past few years into a popular treatment option in today’s healthcare system. As a career, it is well-suited for part-time workers and workers who wish to open their own businesses. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of massage therapists is expected to increase by 19 percent from 2008 to 2018, faster than the average for all occupations. Employment will also grow as more people learn about the benefits of massage therapy.
