Kaskaskia College To Host Arbor Day Celebrations

Kaskaskia College is planning to host their seventh Annual Arbor Day Celebration. Arbor Day will be celebrated at Kaskaskia College’s Vandalia Campus on Wednesday, May 7 at 2:00 p.m. Kent Boyles, Environmental Biology Instructor and District Wildlife Biologist for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources will be the guest speaker for this event.

Arbor Day will be celebrated on the Kaskaskia College’s Main Campus in the Lifelong Learning Center on Friday, May 9 at 2:00 p.m. with Alex Eade as the guest speaker. Eade owns and operates a landscape contracting business in Washington County. In addition, he is currently the Superintendent at the RBM Golf Course in Okawville.

In addition to the guest speakers, both celebrations will hold a ceremonial tree planning, and a reception that will follow the ceremony.

Kaskaskia College and the Kaskaskia College Foundation launched its Arboretum project in 1991. Since then, over 280 trees have been planted. These trees offer a living tribute to individuals, institutions, and municipalities, as well as providing beauty to the KC Campus.
