Evans also outlined a new college and foundation initiative to replace dual credit/college course offerings that were lost at area high schools due to changing Department of Higher Education regulations. To offset those lost college credit opportunities for students, Kaskaskia College, thanks to a $40,000 pledge from the KC Foundation and an additional $10,000 pledge from Foundation Director and KC Board Trustee Dr. Dee Boswell, is initiating an After School College Program starting in the Fall 2018 semester. Evans also announced a new fund raising event the Foundation will host in December. The first annual Winter Gala will be held on December 8 at the Hidden Lake Winery in Aviston. The goal of the event is to raise $50,000 to benefit the students at Kaskaskia College.
