1981-82 Blue Devils Baseball Team Inducted into Kaskaskia College Athletic Hall of Fame

Kaskaskia College inducted the 1981- 1982 Kaskaskia College Blue Devils Baseball into the Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday.

Team members include: Emmett Shoemaker (Salem), Tom Ladd (Troy), Kenny Brown (Greenville), Rick Scoggins (Mulberry Grove), Russ Miller (Cerro Gordo), Dennis Rakers (Aviston), Alan Lake (Okawville), Jamie Kell (Centralia), Randy Potts (Carlyle), Tim Isaak (Carlyle), Dale Cain (Patoka), Jeff Morris (Salem), Pat Shea (Greenville), Chuck Mathews (Alton), Jon Kottkamp (Troy), Jeff Jensen (Centralia), Brian Guthrie (Carlyle), Rick Keller (Troy), Danny Wilson (Okawville), Craig Klein (Trenton) Terry Kelly (Centralia), Mark Grady (Carlyle), Assistant Coach Chuck Hawley and Head Coach Larry Smith.

This baseball team was the last team to claim a Southern Illinois Conference title with a 12-4 record. The team had a non-conference record of 12-6. The spring record was 33-18 and 45-24 for the year. This team won 16 home games in a row. Brian Guthrie, Randy Potts, Chuck Matthews, Alan Lake and Jeff Morris were selected to the All-Conference team. The team finished second in the sectional tournament. Mark Grady, Dennis Rakers, and Jeff Morris were selected to play in the All-Star Game at Wrigley Field in 1982.
