The Jefferson County Historical Society (JCHS)will host a Candlelight Walk on Saturday, November 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Schweinfurth Museum at the Historical Village.
Enjoy an evening walk by candlelight and experience what life was like before electricity. The Jefferson County Historical Village walkways will be lined with candles. Candles will also be lit in the buildings. The cabins and buildings will be open and have costumed interpreters. Following your tour of the village by candlelight, partake of gingerbread and cider in the Schweinfurth Museum.

The Jefferson County Historical Village is located at 1411 North 27th Street
in Mt. Vernon. The Museum and the Village, with its buildings and their contents, reflect life in the past.
Among the furnished buildings, one finds log houses of the 19th century, a log church, a log jail, a one-room school, functional blacksmith and print shops, a display of period merchandise in the general store, and a variety of medical equipment in the Medical Building.
