Rotary Event “PETS”
Several Mount Vernon Rotarians recently attended the Presidents-Elect Training Seminar (PETS,) a weekend long training meeting conducted annually for club presidents-elect. Its purpose is to prepare incoming club presidents for their year as president and give district governors-elect and incoming assistant governors the opportunity to motivate, inspire, and build working relationships. With over 240 in attendance, this year’s PETS seminar was a joint effort by four Rotary club districts — 6490, 6510 from Illinois and 6580, 6560 from Indiana. The weekend’s activities consisted of presentations by well-known and exception speakers, informative workshops, detailed district training sessions, fellowship and networking.
