Ribbon Cutting At The Game Emporium

January 17, 2018

A ribbon cutting and open house was held last Thursday at The Game Emporium, located on the northeast corner of Broadway and Locust Streets in downtown Centralia. Mayor Tom Ashby, Greater Centralia Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Marcus Holland and Chamber Ambassadors gathered together with family, friends and game lovers of all kinds to celebrate the occasion.

The business is owned by Michael Pearson and John Myers, both of whom also have full time jobs outside the store. Last June the two joined together to open the store, each bringing his own strength and experience to the venture. Pearson has a business background in communications, and Myers, who works at Murray Developmental Center, has had a hobby  of games for the past twenty years. The two created this fun business to share that gaming hobby with others.

The Game Emporium has board games, card games, and video games. The store has become a popular hangout for area youth who are able to have fun in a safe social environment.

Family, friends, and Centralia Chamber of Commerce members gathered for the ribbon cutting.
