JCCC Holds Monthly Luncheon

The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce held their monthly luncheon on Wednesday, June 19 at Green Hills Golf Course in Mt. Vernon. Chamber Director Mike Beard began the meeting welcoming everyone and thanking them for coming to the monthly luncheon. He announced that the sponsors as well as the speakers for the meeting were AGE-Affordable Gas and Electric and Legence Bank. Everyone in attendance enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by Green Hills Golf Course.
Brandon Bullard, Chamber President, spoke briefly about the different councils that are with the Chamber. He asked all council members to stand and be recognized. He spoke a little about what each council does. He encouraged everyone present to become more involved in the Chamber by attending the monthly meetings, chamber events and joining a council. The City was also thanked for finding the major water leak in the city and fixing it.
Plaques were given to the new Chamber members. They are: Akra Builders, Jefferson County Daily News, Julie Quinn Law Firm, Jo Jo’s Boutique, Rustic Refined, The Zone, Wellco, Egyptian Spine Clinic, and J Square Fence. Congratulations to all new members.
Speakers were from AGE, which is an energy management consultant. They are energy experts. Steps to the energy plan are: Step one, Competitive Electric Supply Rates; Step two, Energy Technology; and Step three, Solar/Renewable Technology.
Legence Bank spoke next, speaking about all of your banking needs. There were several employees there for the luncheon that were recognized.
Each person that came to the luncheon was given the gift of a tide pen and the following eight tips to tidy up your finances: 1)Toss unnecessary documents; 2) Switch to paperless statements; 3) Create a budget; 4) Re-evaluate your emergency fund; 5) Re-evaluate retirement plan contributions; 6 ) Re-assess your investments; 7) roll over old retirement accounts; and 8) Update beneficiaries on retirement accounts.
Director Beard gave an update on all of the upcoming events happening in Jefferson County. Remember, there is always something happening in Jefferson County.
