Good Samaritan Hospital to host open house event for new Weight Management & Metabolic Center
SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital-Mt. Vernon wants to help local residents live better quality, healthier, and longer lives. That’s why SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital is now bringing four (4) of its metabolic services together in one building, offering patients easier access to the care they need in the new Weight Management and Metabolic Center.
And before Good Samaritan Hospital officially opens the doors to the new Weight Management and Metabolic Center, the general public can get a sneak peek by attending a FREE open house event on Thursday, September 5, 3pm-5pm, and take a tour to learn more about this new health care facility’s services. The Weight Management and Metabolic Center is located on the campus of Good Samaritan Hospital just behind the hospital and Medical Plaza Buildings (5 Good Samaritan Way).
The four (4) service line programs that will be located within the Weight Management and Metabolic Center include:
· Weight Management Services – addressing health and weight management needs for both non-surgical and surgical patients; resources will include diet and nutrition education, exercise training referrals and support groups.
· Diabetes self-management education program (American Diabetes Association recognized program)
· Outpatient nutrition therapy – offers nutrition expertise in many areas including: Cardiovascular diseases; Diabetes; Weight management; Gastrointestinal disorders; Oncology; Pediatric nutrition; Kidney disease.
· Endocrinology specialty physician services – effectively diagnosing and treating conditions such as: Adrenal disorders; Cancers of the endocrine glands; Cholesterol and other lipid disorders; Diabetes; Hormonal imbalances; Hypertension; Metabolic disorders; Osteoporosis; Pituitary and growth disorders; Sexual dysfunction disorders; Thyroid and parathyroid disorders; Weight problems and obesity
