Fundraising Events for Murray Center
The Regional Coalition for Murray Center met last week at Centralia City Hall. Among other items discussed were the ongoing fundraising efforts and those that will coincide with the week long celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Murray Center. “Celebrate Murray—Celebrate Our Citizens.”
On Sunday, September 21 a fundraiser dinner for the Murray Parents Association will be held in the Centralia High School Cafetorium as well as inflatable play equipment for children in the gym. CHS Superintendent Chuck Lane also mentioned that a “fill the gym” event will be held to coincide with the Orphans basketball season.
In another fundraiser event, Peoples National Bank and Kaskaskia Workshop have teamed up in a 50/50 partnership to raise $5,050 for the Murray Parents Association. On Friday, September 26, they will be delivering pre-ordered BBQ lunches to your business. All your business has to do is submit your quantity order before Thursday, Sept. 24 to Peoples National Bank in Centralia at 618-533-3122 or fax 618-918-7102 or email: Donna.Cooksey@peoplesnationalbank.com. Greg Shaver, director of Kaskaskia Workshop, challenged other businesses and organizations to create partnerships raising $5,050 with their own event.
Jan Monken of the friends of Murray Center said, “A fundraising event will be held September 5 at Jaycee Park in Albers. Tickets for the event are available at banks in Albers, Germantown, Breese, Carlyle, Damiansville and Hoffman. Tickets are available in Centralia at Monkens, The Body Shoppe and The Entourage.
