Centralia Chamber Welcomes New Executive Director

June 8, 2017

The Greater Centralia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is proud to announce Marcus Holland as the new Executive Director. Holland will fill the vacant position created when Bob Kelsheimer retired after serving twelve years as the Executive Director and will start his position on June 19, 2017.

“I am excited to build on the existing successes of the Centralia Chamber of Commerce. Of course, Balloon Fest will be my first big event as director, which would not exist without the support and contributions of sponsors and volunteers. Thank you all for your continued support,” says Marcus.

Marcus currently sits on the Executive Committee for Balloon Fest and has been involved in the steering committee as Craft Co-Chair for several years. He has been a member of the Chamber of Commerce since he moved to Centralia in 2006.

“Centralia has shown me how important it is to support the community we live in and I believe that the Chamber of Commerce is the best tool for local businesses and community members to work together and improve our city,” says Marcus.

Most recently, Marcus will be leaving the position of Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Crossroads Community Hospital and the position of Vice President of Ambassadors for the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. From 2008 to 2015, he worked for United Methodist Children’s Home as their fundraising, marketing, and development coordinator.

In addition to the Chamber of Commerce, Marcus has been actively involved in several community events and organizations: Healthcare Foundation, St. Mary’s School, Southern Illinois Networking Association, Mt. Vernon Harvest Festival / Fall Fest, Centralia Fall Fest Chili Cook-Off, and Cedarhurst Center for the Arts.
